IN 1905, THE AUSTRIAN UHLAN UNIFORM WAS STANDARDIZED WITH ALL REGIMENTS WEARING THE SAME BLUE ULANKA AND MADDER RED TROUSERS. EACH OF THE 11 UHLAN k.u.k. REGIMENTS RETAINED THE DISTINTIVE REGIMENTAL COLOR AND REGIMENT NUMBER ON THEIR SHAPKA’S. THE TOP PIECE OF THE SHAPKA IS COVERED WITH THE REGIMENTAL COLORED CLOTH (SEE CHART FOR COLORS). THE PEAK IS BLACK LEATHER WITH GOLDEN STITCHING. THE ROSETTE ON THE HORSE HAIR PLUME IS MADE OF GOLD CORD STITCHED AROUND THE IMPERIAL MONOGRAM “FJI”. THE PLUME IS HELD BY A GOLD PLATED CHAIN AND THREE GOLD LION HEADS. THE EXCEPTION, IN THE CASE OF k.u.k. REGIMENT No. 2, THE CHAIN AND LIONS ARE SILVER. THE AUSTRIAN DOUBLE-HEADED EAGLE PLATE IS GOLD PLATED AND RETAINS THE REGIMENT NUMBER ON THE CENTER SHIELD.
THE ULANKA OR TUNIC IS A MEDIUM BLUE COLR WITH MADDER RED COLLAR AND PIPING. STARS ON THE COLLAR WHITE WITH SLIVER HIGHLIGHT. THE EPAULETE’S’ ARE GOLD CORD. THE BUTTONS ON THE TUNIC ARE DISTINTIVE TO EACH REGIMENT (SEE CHART FOR COLORS)

THE POUCH BELT IS OF RED MOROCCAN LEATHER FACED WITH BRAIDED GOLD LACE AND A SILK BLACK CENTER STRIPE,THE FITTINGS ARE SILVER. THE CARTRIDGE POUCH IS RED MOROCCAN LEATHER, SILVER POUCH FLAP WITH GOLD DOUBLE-HEADED EAGLE AND GOLD TRIM. THE ENDS OF THE POUCH ARE SILVER. THE WAIST SASH IS YELLOW SILK WITH TWO BLACK INTERWOVEN STRIPES. THE CANTEEN AND SHOULDER STRAP IS RED LEATHER WITH A SILVER CUP. THE RARE ID TAG IS GOLD-GUILDED. THE MARKSMANSHIP AWARD, (WOOL POM-POMS) ARE RED.
THE OFFICER THAT WORE THIS UNIFORM HELD THE RANK OF OBERLEUTNANT 1ST CLASS. THE BUST IS BASED ON THE ULHAN k.u.k. REGIMENT No. 5 UNIFORM IN THE CRAMER MUSEUM. THE UNIFORM IS COMPLETE WITH THE FUR ULANKA WORN FOR COLD WEATHER.
